Ben has been in Chigwell and Chigwell Row since 2010, first as the Team Vicar and latterly as our Team Rector. Having been brought up in Suffolk and having attended school in Essex, he enjoys being near his roots and his family.
Ben has a heart for prayer and mission and is encouraged to see the message of God’s love in Jesus continue to spread throughout the parish. He is equally excited about the unity vision which God gave him back in 2015 which frames everything we do here. It is gathering momentum and by God’s grace, beginning to bear fruit.
Ben is married to Joo-Young who is from South Korea and who works in the South Korean Embassy. They both enjoy cooking, playing music and pretending to garden.
Paula moved into the Parish in the spring of 2016 having served in 2 churches in a Cambridge parish for the previous 4 years. Earlier in her working life she has been a nurse and a secretary.
Based in Chigwell Row, Paula has a special interest in building up the work among children, young people and families in the churches and is delighted to be part of a dedicated team across The Parish. She loves being out and about in the community.
Originally from St. Albans Paula still has a lot of close family in Hertfordshire. When not relaxing with family and friends she enjoys swimming, walking and cooking. She is married to Paul and together they enjoy regular visits to the theatre and a wide variety of live music.
Elise arrived in Chigwell in 2016 after completing the academic part of her training at Cranmer Hall in Durham, which felt like returning home as she previously lived in Buckhurst Hill. Originally from America, Elise moved to the UK in autumn 2013 believing that God was calling her to ministry in the U.K. She now considers herself an Ameri-Brit, as England feels very much like home, but she knows she’ll never lose her American roots (or accent!)
Elise has a deep love for God’s Church and says it is where she feels most alive and in her element. She also has a passion for discipleship and helping people to understand how a life lived following Christ is the best life you can live.
Elise enjoys walking in the gorgeous England countryside and hiking in the mountains (when she can get to them!), reading a good novel or mystery, travelling around the British Isles and Europe, dabbling in gardening, hosting a good dinner party, and simply spending time with friends and family.
